Welcome to Short King Dating. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Short King Dating ("we," "us," or "our"), an independent developer, collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").
Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.
When you register and use our Service, you voluntarily provide us with certain information, including:
Full name and age
Email address and password
Phone number (used for verification and to keep one account per person; never shown to other users)
Gender identity
Height (for eligibility verification purposes)
Profile photos, a live selfie and a photo of your government-issued ID (driver's license) for verification. The selfie and ID are stored separately from your profile, can only be viewed by our moderation team, and are permanently deleted as soon as a moderator approves or rejects your verification. They are never shown to other users, sold, or used for any other purpose.
Biography and personal interests
Location information: the city/state you enter, and — if you allow location access — your device location rounded to about 1 km (0.6 mi), used only to show approximate distances between members. We never store or share your exact address or precise GPS position.
Purchase information for premium subscriptions and boosts. In the Android app, purchases are processed by Google Play; on our website, by Stripe. We receive a purchase confirmation (product, status, order ID) — never your full card number.
Messages you send to your matches, and reports you submit about other users
When you use our Service, we automatically collect certain information, including:
Device information (device type, operating system, and a push-notification token if you turn on notifications)
Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of visits)
Usage data (features used, matches made, messages sent)
Approximate location data based on IP address
If you connect your account through a third-party service, we may receive information from that service as permitted by their privacy policies.
We use the information we collect to:
Create and manage your account
Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
Match you with compatible users
Process payments and subscriptions
Send you notifications about matches, messages, and account activity
Verify your identity through our manual photo moderation process
Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
Prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
Comply with legal obligations
Communicate with you about updates, promotions, and new features
Your public profile information — including your name, age, photos, bio, height, and interests — is visible to other verified users of the Service. You control what you share on your profile.
We share information with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service, including payment processors (Google Play and Stripe), Google Firebase (cloud hosting, database, authentication and push notifications), and Netlify (website hosting). These providers are contractually required to protect your information.
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our company, users, or the public.
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
Short King Dating uses a manual human moderation process to verify user identities. When you submit a selfie for verification:
Your selfie and profile photo are reviewed by our moderation team
Moderation decisions are made by human reviewers, not automated systems
Verification photos (selfie and ID) are stored separately from your profile, visible only to moderators, and deleted once your verification is decided
We do not use facial recognition technology
You may be asked to resubmit if your verification is rejected
Unverified users have limited access to the Service and are not visible in other users' discovery feeds.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, safety, or fraud prevention purposes.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, passwords handled by Google Firebase Authentication (we never see or store your password), and access restrictions on verification images.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
You may access and update your profile information at any time through the Profile section of the app.
You may delete your account at any time in the app: Profile tab → Account & Safety → Delete My Account, or at shortkingdating.dating/delete-account. In-app deletion immediately and permanently removes your profile, photos, matches, messages, likes and login. Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription — cancel it in Google Play or via your Stripe receipt.
You may opt out of promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in those emails. You may still receive transactional emails related to your account.
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data). If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the GDPR including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at shortkingdating@gmail.com.
8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Short King Dating is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete that information immediately. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at shortkingdating@gmail.com.
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
